The contract document for Upgrading of Itoni – Ludewa – Manda Road (211.4 Km) to Cement Concrete Standard; Lot 2: Lusitu – Mawengi Section (50 Km) was signed on 22ndAugust, 2016 between Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) on behalf of the Government of the South Korea. The contract price isTShs. 159,217,440,785.70 inclusive of 18% VAT. The contract duration is 28 months inclusive of 3 months mobilization period.
The contract is financed by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and it is payable in 100% Tanzania Shillings.
The works consists of the upgrading of the existing gravel road to paved standard, construction of embankment, drainage structures involving bridges, box culverts, pipe culverts as well as pavement layers and ancillary works.
