With over 200 invited guests from various parts of the country, including consumers, Serengeti Breweries Ltd stakeholders and the media fraternity, the celebration of a new beginning of the definitive Serengeti Premium Lager was witnessed. The launch Serengeti Premium Lager at this prestigious venue was a vibrant and refined event, graced by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industries, Trade and Marketing, Mrs Joyce Mapunjo.
As he welcomed the invited guests, Mr. Ephraim Mafuru, Director of Sales and Marketing, asserted that the beer with its new look has the same great taste and quality. He said, “Serengeti Premium Lager is known for its great quality and taste, has scooped gold medals at international platforms like DLG & Monde, and is also proud to be the first lager manufactured in Tanzania to be 100% malt. The beer has recorded a historic growth in both value and volumes. The new appearance relates better now to both our male and female consumers.”
The new look encompasses a new label, with a more golden look that aspires to modernity. Addressing the invited guests, Managing Director of Serengeti Breweries Limited, Mr Richard Wells, said: “As part of Diageo, at SBL we have embraced core principals, and the quality of our products is key. We believe in producing using the best ingredients there are in the most hygienic environment.”
Mr. Wells also touched briefly on SBL social responsibility projects, “We are enjoying amazing growth in our company and in the light of this I would like to point out that we are sharing our success with the community that surrounds us, through projects including water of life, skills for life, health and environment. We have provided clean water to hospitals, built an optical clinic in Moshi, planted trees in various regions and, in collaboration with EABL Foundation, sponsored students who are underprivileged, among other initiatives.”
The guest of honour Mrs. Joyce Mapunjo congratulated Serengeti Breweries Ltd. on its commendable growth. She said, “I constantly address gatherings of this nature, and one thing I repeatedly point out to organisations such as SBL is to produce products that are competitive internationally in quality as well as packaging.
A product like that launched here today, is a good example of one that will surely pass in markets outside our borders. I do laud Serengeti Breweries today. I would also want to personally congratulate the Board of Directors on the Moshi Brewery which was officially launched towards the end of last year by our Prime Minister. I want to assure you that the government will continue with its colossal support to the private sector.”
The launch which commenced at around 7pm with invited guests chatting away and waiting for the unveiling, marked a new beginning for the iconic and distinctly tasteful lager. The signature moment was the new look bottle emerging from under water, a concept that wowed the audience. There were testimonials from Serengeti Breweries Limited stakeholders speaking about how far they have come with this brand and the successes along the way. Great entertainment, food and drinks creamed it all.
